I operate through LXD Integral Learning Ltd., a consultancy based in Courtenay, British Columbia. I hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and graduate credentials in both Instructional Design and Information Technology Management from Athabasca University. I’ve spent over twenty-five years working in learning technology, knowledge management, and digital communications — first in graphic production and web development, then in e-learning and LMS implementation, and now as an independent consultant, project manager, and hands-on builder of learning and performance support systems.
Three ways of working
I work in three modes, and I actively seek a mix of all three because they make each other stronger.
- Sometimes I work as an individual contributor — designing, developing, and shipping learning products, platforms, and tools. I build across the full stack: instructional design, platform architecture, UX, visual design, media production, and AI-driven performance support.
- Other times I work as a project manager, bringing structure, clarity, and accountability to complex builds with distributed teams, multiple stakeholders, and tight timelines.
- And sometimes I work as a consultant, helping organizations diagnose what’s not working in their learning and performance support systems and charting a clear, implementable path forward.
These three modes form a beneficial flywheel — building makes me a better leader, leading reveals new ways of building, and both give me the diverse tools and practical grounding that make my consulting worth paying for. I’m not interested in doing just one of these things. The combination is what lets me help clients find their “snick.”
The work
Most of my projects are in the learning and performance support domain — helping organizations create, improve, and sustain the systems that deliver training, knowledge, and support to the people who need them. I’ve worked with addiction treatment providers, real estate professionals, emergency services, leadership development organizations, non-profit coalitions, professional regulatory bodies, national industry associations, and individual coaches and trainers. The common thread isn’t the sector — it’s the challenge: something needs to be built, led, or fixed, and it needs to be done right.
I work primarily on a project basis — scoped engagements with clear deliverables and timelines. For clients who’ve worked with me and want ongoing access, I also offer fractional arrangements. If you’d like to know more about how engagements are structured, visit the How We Work page.
